We had earlier reported that Windows Phone market share will be going down to 0.0% by end of 2020. Today in a new report by the Statistics provider Kantar for the month end April 2017 confirms the continuous collapsing of the Windows Phone market in every single country.
The market share of Windows Phone in countries like Europe and Germany has seen a decline of 3.2 percent which is same as was reported same period last year. The decline proves that only 2.6 percent of Windows Phones were sold in the country between February 1st and April 30th this year.
There is similar news and stats coming in from United Kingdom as well where the Smartphones sales have dropped from 4.1 percent to 1.8 percent. Overall the EU5 region has seen a decline of 2.8 percent sales share over the period of last three months.
However there is some good news for Windows Phone users only in US though. The Windows Phone market share in the US has increased from 1.3 percent share last year to 1.6 percent in 2017 which is a minor growth of 0.3 percent.
With the increase market share of Windows Phone in US there has been a decline to its biggest Rival Android market share which has declined to 5.9 percent dropping to 61.7 percent. However the market share difference between the two platforms is too big for Windows Phone to reach or even get close to it.
