Microsoft's Office 365 team has announced the launch of Project Time Reporter. The app is a way of managing projects for organizations and individuals. In an official announcement, the company says the app is launching on Apple's iOS platform.
Project Time Reporter shares many similarities with Project Online. That service has been running on Office 365 since 2013 as a desktop service. Timesheets are an important part of many organizations. They help track progress of tasks and make work-to-time ratios assessable.
Microsoft is a long-time timesheet management provider and over the years its services have grown. Solutions are now more dynamic and can analyze time more closely. Microsoft Project has been a long standing tool for managing timesheets. It is arguably the most widely used solution of its kind.
Office 365 Project Time ReporterNow the company is pushing its online project solution to mobile with this latest release. Office 365 Project Time Reporter is the mobile version of Microsoft Project, with a twist.
The iPhone app has numerous features. It can track users and update the status of their progress on tasks. Project Time also add employees not associated with a task to a timesheet. The app makes tracking time across a select period easier by allowing timesheets to be saved and submitted later.
We know what you're thinking. Why is this another iOS exclusive and what about Windows phone? Well, Microsoft has said that Android and Windows phone versions of the app will be arriving soon. That's just the way it is these days, the company will more frequently target iOS and/or Android before Windows phone.
