Microsoft Rolls Out Windows 10 Build 15007 with Plethora of New Features

Microsoft has just released Windows 10 build 15007 for PC and mobile in the Fast ring, taking everyone by surprise with a second rollout this week.

Just like build 15002, the new 15007 comes with lots of new features for both PCs and smartphones, and there's literally no reason not to install it as soon as possible.

What's new for PC

First and foremost, PC insiders are getting more Microsoft Edge improvements, with the browser now boasting options to share tabs that you've set aside (setting tabs aside is a feature that was introduced with build 15002). Additionally, Microsoft Edge now has a feature that all the other browser have and let users import data from other applications, including browsing history, saved passwords, bookmarks, and more.

There are also web notes improvements and Microsoft says that this feature is very similar to Windows Ink, coming with the same full set of colors.

The apps for websites feature also works correctly now, and the company explains that clicking links to websites that support web linking will now open that page in the respective app.

Microsoft is also introducing themes for Windows 10 PCs, a feature that has already been spotted in previously-leaked builds, as well as a new Cortana capability that works across PCs and lets you pick up where you left off.

Essentially, this is a feature that makes it possible to work on a document on one Windows 10 PC and continue from where you left off on another PC running Windows 10, as long as Cortana is enabled and configured with the same account.

PCs are also getting an inline progress bar for notifications, such as download progress when getting apps from the store, but developers first need to add support for their apps.

And last but not least, Windows 10 build 15007 also introduces Windows Hello improvements with a visual guidance that tracks the face in real time, but also new Bluetooth APIs enabling GATT Server, Bluetooth LE Peripheral role and unpaired Bluetooth LE device connectivity. If you're using Snipping tool and not a third-party screen capture tool, this now supports Alt + N for a quick capture.
