Word Flow: Microsoft’s Keyboard in Windows 10 Mobile Going to iOS

Windows 10 Mobile, Word Flow — Under the Leadership Satya Nadella, Microsoft has become a more open company and its newly found openness is now reflecting on the way the Redmond giant conduct its business.

After making its virtual assistant Cortana available on iOS and Android, Microsoft is continuing its plan to make its various software innovations available across all platforms. For a long time, the company's Office Suite has been available on iOS and Android. The intelligent assistant Cortana has recently become available on the two competing systems; and soon it will be the turn of the Word Flow keyboard to appear on iPhone.

Word Flow, the Best Keyboard in the Market

In the message sent to members of the Windows Insider program, it is said that Microsoft is working to make the keyboard available "to other platforms, starting with iOS." We can expect to see Word Flow on Android as well. The native keyboard on Windows Phone is regularly cited as one of th e best, if not the ultimate best. Word Flow's suggestion system is indeed very effective.

The keyboard is, according to some experts, one of the main strengths of the mobile operating system from Microsoft. It won the Guinness World Record for the fastest typing of a text message on a touch screen!

Not a surprising move

The fact that Microsoft is putting its best services on other platforms is not surprising at all. Satya Nadella, CEO of the company, started since arriving at the head of the software giant in early 2014 a strategy of openness. By offering many applications on other platforms, Nadella hopes to attract the largest number of users to its flagship products, such as Office 365, and generate revenue by charging for additional features.

Despite the launch of two new Lumias — the Lumia 950 and the Lumia 950 XL — Windows Phone's share of the market remains extremely low. In November, it was reported that the system now account for less than 3% of t he market, behind Android (84.7%) and iOS (13.1%), ahead only of Blackberry (0.3%).
