Rumors concerning the existence of a Surface Phone have been around since 2012, but a new leak hints that Microsoft is indeed working on the handset. The device has now shown up on a benchmarking website which tested out its browser capabilities.
The HTML5test site states it used the Edge 12 to conduct its evaluations on a Microsoft Surface Phone running Windows Phone 10. The OS name is probably a mistake considering the official term for the software is Windows 10 Mobile. The smartphone scored 401 out of 555 points in the browser test.
While it's possible this listing is fake, there's still a real chance the Surface Phone might see the light of day at some point of time in the future. A leak back in August this year claimed it might get launched by late 2015 or early 2016. According to NDTV, the device is currently going by the codename Project Juggernaut Alpha.
The rumored Microsoft handset will supposedly be equipped with a 5.5-inch QHD screen and USB Type-C connectivity. Spec-wise, it may be fueled by a 64-bit Intel Atom x3 (SoFIA) processor. There's a chance the tech giant is producing 3GB and 4GB variants of the smartphone. It may further come in 64GB and 128GB storage choices.

Users will be able to extend internal memory up to 256GB via a microSD card slot. Like the other entries in the Surface series of devices, this handset might also ship with a Surface Pen. Coming to its photography department, Microsoft has reportedly fitted it with a 21MP PureView Zeiss 6-lens main snapper, alongside an 8MP Zeiss wide-angle front-facing lens.
